Hello, I have noticed sound dropouts on 5.1 content using HDMI Passthrough.

The setup:

Tronsmart Vega S95 Meta(S905 2GB/8GB) with VidOn XBMC Pro

AVR = Onkyo HT-R391

There is an audio issue causing frequent, brief sound drops(1-2 second duration) with some streamed 5.1 Dolby Digital content within VidOn XBMC. It occurs while using HDMI Passthrough.
The content was streamed from the add-on, HD-Trailers.net. The trailer can be found under Video Add-ons/ HD-Trailers.net/ Most Watched/ Mad Max/ Trailer F4 - 5.1 Audio(hd-trailers.net). It happens on the, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" 5.1 trailers and others as well. I don't know if it is an add-on issue, VidOn or something else.
Using the program add-on, youtube-dl Control, I downloaded the trailer. The same drops occur when VidOn XBMC plays the downloaded file(mp4). The same file played in the Android MoviePlayer app, does not experience the drops.

Thank you.

Hi

I’m using the Tronsmart S95 Vega with "stock" Vidon version. Same issue with DTS audio.

When playing video with Vidon XBMC ( with pass trough) DTS audio to Onkyo receiver (TX-SR608) the audio drops every 3 seconds.

With the standard player or MX player no audio drops!

What is going wrong? Is it the hardware setup, the settings in Android, the settings in VidonXBMC or ...?

Many  thanks for your reply

Is that possibile to upload the "Trailers"  (mp4) file to us ? Then we can check and fully analyze this issue. You can upload to Dropbox or Google Drive.
upload to FTP program to our FTP site.

Please create a new folder, name it with your full name, then create a subfolder and put the uploaded files in it, so that we can easily find and test it to see where the problem is. Thanks.

Confirm - sound dropouts every 3-4 sec in the movies with DTS, AC3, DTS-HD-MA etc. Tronsmart Telos connected via HDMI to Onkyo 828.

Hello,

The funny about this is when playing the same movie using BSPlayer or MXplayer I have no sound problems (DTS, ac3).

I tested the Kodi version (despite that the video is not working correctly) : same sound problems...

Hope this will help...

I found that not only video with DTS\AC3 Kodi playing with dropouts, same problem with pure DTS audio track. For example, i attached audio file - someone please test it, i have dropouts even when listening it.

So it means that dropouts may not be related to A\V sync.

My H\W is Telos+Onkyo828, HDMI passtrough

Same problem with me on a S905 Android box. Happens both with Kodi 16 and VidOn.Me 14.2 with subscription paid. If I remove passthru it is fine but I need pass-thru. Does anyone know the reasons this is happening ?

Hi,

The same problem with MXQ PRO (S905) (1G/8G) with VidOd.Me 15.2 and KODI 16.0 too. Aplituner Yahama 379  - no metter HDMI or SPDIF audio signal through

I have old "amplituner"  funai m200 (blueray) - the problem doesnt exist.

I think Yamaha is more sensitive that funai (on funai I can set audio input on hard to 5.1 dts or DD).

If I send signal form andorid BOx to funai - on funai passthough with conver from DTS (5.1) to PCM (5.1)  do Yamaha  - the problem is gone.

Just bought a Tronsmart S95 Meta and i have the same problem !

The audio clicking problem happens with DTS and Dolby Digital soundtracks with HDMI passthrough

DTS-HD Master and TrueHD soundtracks work just fine with HDMI passthrough.

We need a fix !

According to Tronsmart, you are supposed to release a new version to fix the DTS Dropout. When will you release it ??
