It will be released by the end of this month, if everything goes well.

Hi Wolly!

How is the update progressing?

Is there any news?

We are now at the last day of the month and I'm looking forward to be able to update my box soon :-)

I know that there are many people who believes the update never will see the daylight, but I hope you will prove them wrong.

Please, If the update isn't finished and a ETA isn't in the near future please let me know so I can find another setup.

Best Regards,

Jonas Andersson

VidOn XBMC has its own player-core and has no relationship with any of the official Kodi releases. Which means it's not important to us which version of Kodi our VidOn XBMC releases are based on.

In other news. In order to meet many users update requirements, we have almost completed the work on VidOn XBMC 15.2 and our internal testers are preparing to test this new version. Once it's passed the test, it will be released.

It is very important when you start having Addons just stop working and new release not supported.

How long will it take for it get release?

VidOn XBMC has its own player-core...

Why exactly is that? To have hardware acceleration on your hardware?

Hmmm , wolly

We never , at least in the year i have the box , got a working stable release , you did not provide an official 1080p ui firmware like promised

You never fixed the interlacing bugs ,
You never fixed the bluray 3D smooth playing ( remeber ? We had buffering issues bug , then dropped frames issue , then audio sync issue , then frame dropping only in 3D mode in the latest build of both vmc and xbmc )

You always blame the sdk , well , i updated ( loosing the 1080ui ) to the latest firmware and still all these bugs and problems still occur

Tons of bugs all over , your company is busy making more and more software which none of it is for your own box and users

You didnt release any java vmc as promised (with screenshots) a while ago

A year + passed , and still you never released any working source of all the current open source software runing in your box ( android , or vidon xbmc , or vidon vmc )

If the box is outdated already ( someone pointed that in an earlier post here ) at least release the source code to the public

This is our own player, we did a lot of work on the performance of BD iso/bdmv playback, it's the only player on Android which can support BD-J menu.

We released a beta version, but from the performance we know the 1080p UI will cost more RAM so we give up.

VidOn + VidOn Server is the new solution to replace the old VMC. And now we are developing the android VidOn Server which will be merged with the current VidOn (TV).

Hi Wolly!

It seems that you can't provide us with a date for the update and thats too bad. Why I don't know but my only guess is that there will not be a update and it's "all talk and no joy"?
The answer from you is "just wait a few weeks, or months"?

Hope that you can response with a date this time?

Best regards,
Jonas

Agreed too,,

A lot of time and effort appears to being put into all of there other projects and they appear to have given up on the Vidon Box..

Ditto.  This is insane.

I bought this over a year ago.  It has never been able to stream 3d isos properly over SMB with HD audio without stuttering or other issues.  Not      one     single    movie.  This box has sat in its box since the day that I bought it.  I pull it out when a new update comes around, and then I tuck it back in when it fails to deliver.

I suppose that by the time this update comes out (if it ever does) my subscription will have expired and I won't even be able to test it without giving you more money.

Hi Wolly,

if the "future" of vidon box is vidon+vidon server, I don't understand while you are keeping alive the XBMC project that seems absorbing a lot of time and resources, considering that your roadmap is "vidon-server" based.

I'm an XBMC user so I'm talking against my interests, but it seems you haven't enough people to complete so many projects:

VidOn Server for PC
VidOn for Android Phone and iPhone (Upgrade from the VidOn Player, it can play movies via Samba or connect to VidOn Server)
VidOn for TV (VidOn Cloud TV)
VidOn XBMC (Based on Kodi 15.2)

And then
VidOn for TV (which integrate the VidOn Server, so you will only need to install one .apk on your VidOn Box or other Android Box, no more need PC)
VidOn Server for Smart Router...

VidOn Server for NAS...

Keep up the hard work, we wait for the new XBMC release!

The [VidOn Server + VidOn Cloud TV] app will come out very soon, the testers now are testing it.

Hi Wolly!

Can we expect that Vidon Box is included in this update??
If not, why??
I can't see that you have answered my question regarding VidOn Box update????

Why is it so hard to answer with a date????

So having spent out hard earnt cash on the Vidon Box we're not a priority then.? Your other projects are getting updates first.?

This is also for the VidOnBox, because only on VidOn Box, the app can playback HD audio, BD menu and BD 3D.

End of the month was 15 days ago , 2 weeks ago

And how are still saying " only on vidon box the app can play "

The app cant play 3D BD , framerate is not stable , half of them are frame drops

HD audio? Never ever been able to get dts-hd , only dolby digital , you never fixed that bug

you keep trying to get us out of the main topic with your non true marketing statments

Your latest firmware make both vmc and kodi crash , get stuck with black screen , instead of fixing your own product you release more and more for others products ( which contain the same bugs )

I'm losing hope on new updates (not talking about kodi..., talking about vidon box VMC). Waiting is becoming really too long.

 MODERATOR NOTE:
Please note that this topic is about VidOn XBMC, not VMC. And your other 'off-topic' comments have been removed!

And now that The New VidOn XBMC 15.2.0 beta is here! (released Thu 17 Dec 2015). This topic is now closed.
