I have a Nvidia Shield TV. I installed vidonKODI beta beta 2. As expected HD audio does not work.
When I enable HD audio there is a loud white noise and video playback stutters.
Also VidonKODI can not detect autoframe rate.

Will there be support for the Nvidia TV

Thanks

Hello Blue27,

Currently we are not working with Nvidia due to our large focus on several internal projects. But as I have said before regarding Nvidia Shield TV, if enough customers show interest than maybe I can take the idea to the bosses and convince them that optimizing our SDK to work with Nvidia would be a fiscally sound idea.

I believe you are the 3rd or 4th person to ask about this specifically, so if people continue to show interest we may be able to move towards working with them in the future.

Joe

Hi joe,
Thanks for your reply.
Regarding the video stutter with HD audio. When I set output configuration to Fixed and sample rate 48.0, kodi plays without stutter.
I know it's not much use to you but I thought I'll let you know.

It will be great because shield TV is out in US, but when it will available in France soon, I will buy it, and of course I hope there will be issue for Vid0n XBMC version ;)

The 4K potential is amazing with this box ;)

Hey Blue27,

It good to have this info, because if we ever do work with them we know where to start.

Thanks

Blu-ray menu is the feature of the apk, but I'm afraid that 3D and HD audio passthrough won't work on your Nvidia shield, because that involves the SDK/firmware modification/adaptation.

Please support Nvidia Shield Android TV. This has the biggest potential right now.

Calm down, guys.

We do hope we can make the VidOn XBMC running on all kinds of devices with all of the advanced features (BD menu, HD audio passthroug, BD 3D playback, etc), but it's very difficult.

See the reasons:

Because of the fragmentation of Android and almost all manufactures have their own customized versions, so it's difficult to develop a general version. The BD 3D and HD audio passthrough related APIs are not public APIs, so our app cann't call these APIs. We need to work together with those box producers or chipset manufactures to finish the work. And you know not all chipset manufactures or box makers are interested in our VidOn XBMC, they don't care HD audio passthrough, they don't think their customers need BD menu, BD 3D playback, so they won't work with us.

As a startup, we even have no chance to talk to the Giants, like Nvidia.

Currently, we are working on Amlogic S812, S805, S802, S905, RK3368 and Allwinner H3,

S812, S805, S802 : Almost perfect. If your box has updated to the latest firmware, then it can run VidOn XBMC.

S905 : Just started.

RK3368: DTS-HD, TrueHD passthrough works, 3D is under working.

H3: 3D works, HD auido passthrough is under working.

@Wolly,

Wondering on which device with a RK3368 chip you are testing.

Is it possible to test your build on my Zidoo X6 ?

I will sign any non-disclosure papers :P

I also don't have the .apk file, but we do have made it work on RK3368, it's just the app hasn't be released to public.

The manufacturer is producing the box with this new VidOn XBMC.

Zidoo also claimed they developed their own "perfect" XBMC for RK3368, maybe you can try it.

I know it is not easy working with "the big boys" like Nvidia.

But i too would love to have VidON-xbmc working on the Nvidia Shield Android Tv,i recently bought the Pro version.

Hope if enough shows their interest, you would consider looking at the possibility.

Regards Hasse61
