Ive been working with my new box since I got it a few days ago. I noticed things were taking forever to load or download. I downloded the Speed Test app and tested my download speeds.

I am barely getting 2.0mbps on the VidOn box. My laptop, which is right next to it is pulling 16mbps. Seems like a lot of my buffering issues could be caused by the slow WiFi connection on the VidOn box. Is this normal speed for the VidOn box?

I would think it would need a lot more than 2mbps to stream.

The buffering issues can be caused by a lot of things, but we recommend a wired connection with the VidOn Box for the best streaming quality.

It's not the right way to compare an Android Box with a PC, because the CPU of PC is far more powerful than Android Box, and also has some other factors.

The WiFi speed of VidOn Box in our test room can be fast enough to stream the Blu-ray main movie without buffering, but as Joe said, the buffering issues can be caused by a lot of factors, so we don't recommend to watch Blu-ray via WiFi.

Thanks for the help.  Looks like some CAT5 cable will get laid out throughout the house.
