Is there any way of exploring what prevents HBO Nordic from working ion my new Vidon Box? I installed the app and tried to use it. There is some message for a very short time I can not read it. Any log to find out what happens?

Maybe incompatible with the VidOn Box.

I've tried to test it but I don't have the account after I installed it and the official website didn't provide a register link. Maybe I found the fake website.

We are still looking into this issue but it is a little tough as we do not have HBO Nordic to attempt to replicate the problem. I have started another topic inquiring about HBO app usage on the VidOn Box, so hopefully we can get some helpful feedback from that. Otherwise, have found any time to do further testing concerning this issue?

hi, I do not know any other way to explore this.

VidonBox is using Allwinner CPU and Minix android boxes use Amlogic 8xx. I know that HBO Nordic has been spotted to work on Minix. Are the CPU architectures and GPU similar or very different between Amlogic and Allwinner?

The chipsets are similar enough that they run the same maor software, such as XBMC, but they still have differences in app compatibility. In the past we have had trouble with HBO apps for mobile devices, such as phones and tablets, because our Android platform is optimized for TV, while those apps are optimized for mobile; the problem is that the output is unstable because the VidOn Box is being forced to display an app that is not meant for a TV.

I use the same app inmy Nexus 7 (2013) full hd  so resolution is not the problem.

Any log in VidoBox I could send you while trying to use the app? This would be one reason to keep using vidon box. Not many left...

I think the problem is display out put and navigation functionality; the VidOn Box is trying to figure out how to put a phone sized image onto a TV screen and it causes a lot of issues.

Believe me, these video streaming service apps are something that we recognize as vitally important to our customers and we are trying hard to make them available to you, we really are.

We simply wait to see if our developers can optimize this app to work with our box; though at this point it seems to be the coding of the app which prevents the box from properly displaying, and therefore playing back, content. If it turns out to be the coding of the app preventing playback there is nothing more we can do.

once more. Is there any log inside Vidon to help to solve what happens when I try to use this app? Any remote support system? I tried another video streaming and IPTV PVR app (Sonera Viihde)  and I get no picture nor sound. No dialog or message. Again this is not something you can test (local Finnish). Would like to try changing settings if needed but do not know where to start

The new Chromecast functionality of the new HBO Nordic app gave the perfect picture for me yesterday. Some optimization on VidonBox side  might help to get to the perfect picture on VidonBox too....

I can confirm that the HBO Nordic app works and streams. I haven't managed to get it to stream HD quality material though. So essentially, it works, but it looks crap.

Is there any more news or updates regarding the HBO Nordic App?

I can not get it to work. App installs and everything looks fine but I can not start any of the episodes of any serie.

Hello toaowork,

What SDK, VMC and XBMC versions are you using on your VidOn Box?

What version of the app are using?
