Hi, I cannot connect to my shares on my Mac OS X Server running 10.9 Mavericks via NFS. SMB does work but is slow. NFS offers best performance. The IP of my Mac OS X Server does not appear in the list of NFS servers, only a Windows Server, a QNAP NAS and a Netgear ReadyNAS. On different media players I can connect via NFS without problems. Is there a solution? Thanks, Thomas

Within the VidOn XBMC app or the "Files" tab that your Mac NFS Server was not listed?

No, the Mac NFS Server ist not listed in both. If I want to connect manually by entering the ip address no connection can be established.

I use the latest firmware and app.

If I can support you in investigating let me know.

The developers are on the case as we speak, and either myself or someone else from VidOn.me will contact you very soon for further information. We will first run some tests in office to see if we have similar issues.

Any news so far? Are you able to reproduce it?

Hey, thmweb

We have tested the problem, yes, the box cannot connect to the Mac's NFS server. I've reported this issue to the developers, hope they can fix it asap.

Hey thmweb,

I will try to get some answers out of the developers today. I am not a Mac guy so I can't offer any real assistance myself.

Sorry for the wait,

Joe

UPDATE:

At the morning meeting this issue was discussed and the developers still want to undergo further testing. Is there any other way you can access your files for now?

Any luck with accessing your NFS share thmweb? We are looking to include a fix in the next update so hopefully this problem will clear itself up. In the meantime, did Wolly's link prove of any use?

Hi,

Sorry for my late reply but I didn't notice a notification about your post. I just tried it but it did not help. Still other media player devices see my nfs share on my Mac OS X 10.9 Server but not yours. I hope that your developers will fix it soon. My old Media Player device cannot play 3D movies because it's too old.

Another topic: when will you switch to Kodi? I wonder that there is still XBMC Gotham on the box. Is there a way to install the latest version of Kodi and your extensions (e.g. for Blu-Ray structure)?

Different devices have different way to connect NFS server, the box is based on Android OS, it's different with Linux or Windows, and the configuration of NFS for Android on Mac is also has some different things, but  I will report the NFS connection issue again.

Yes we have plan to upgrade to Kodi, it will be very soon, maybe in April.
